Post Graduate Dental Education (PGDE), Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) Fellowship in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery

Advanced Orthognathic Surgery
Every year the Calgary section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery accepts one surgical fellow at advanced training in orthognathic surgery. 
This year long fellowship will provide candidates with the necessary knowledge for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with congenital and acquired dentofacial deformities and maxillofacial disorders. This program aims to create an evidence-based hands-on learning environment related to oral maxillofacial surgical care. The fellow will gain extensive exposure to the consultation, diagnostic and treatment planning processes, and surgical correction of dentofacial deformities, maxillofacial pathology, and temporomandibular joint disorders.  Approximately 250 orthognathic surgeries are performed by our teaching faculty per year,  with a significant volume of reconstruction, total joint replacement and full arch implant rehabilitation.

Clinical Research Position in Paediatric Oral and Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery

University Hospital Basel

Applicants are invited for a 1-year full-time research position in paediatric craniofacial malformations at the Clinic for Oral and Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, University Hospital Basel. The starting date can be 1.2.2025 or by arrangement.

Applicant profile:

  • Completed master’s degree in medicine or dentistry
  • Experience with and affinity for 3D image analysis tools
  • Interest in paediatric patients
  • Enjoy working in a dyanmic multidisciplinary and multicultural team

Your tasks:

  • Extraction and registration of data from medical records
  • Pre-processing and analysis of 3D images and clinical records
  • Evaluation of the model for studying paediatric craniofacial anomalies
  • Engagement in clinical practice in paediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery

We offer you:

  • Participation in an interdisciplinary research project and an international team
  • Experience in interdisciplinary clinical routine both at the University Hospital Basel and the University Children’s Hospital Basel
